Expectations of the Junior Business Attorney: The primary responsibility of the Junior Business Attorney in our Firm will be to support the Firm’s Senior Corporate Attorney with drafting, reviewing, and revising business organizational documents. The Junior Business Attorney will participate in business deals, including asset purchase transactions, stock purchase transactions, commercial loan closings, private equity investments, etc.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply Knowledge of contracts to aid in legal document preparation and management
  • Research and analyze information to draw conclusions
  • Aid in managing business deals, including asset purchase transactions, stock purchase transactions, commercial loan closings, private equity investments, etc.
  • Help in developing legal strategies and advise clients regarding their best legal interests, serving as the principal contact between the Firm and the clients.
  • Help with marketing, and networking by attending community events
  • Attend continuing legal education seminars as necessary to expand knowledge in practice area(s)

Skills & Qualifications Required:

  • J.D. from an ABA accredited law school
  • Excellent academic credentials
  • At least 2 years of corporate experience
  • Ability to learn and embrace new skills and best practices as the position evolves and Firm needs change
  • Ability to work well independently and effectively within a team
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with a diverse group of internal and external clients, attorneys, and staff
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills 
  • Excellent drafting and negotiation skills
  • Confidence to identify and analyze issues, make decisions, and initiate actions/solutions
  • Business sense and ability to think strategically
  • Positive attitude
  • Ability to develop and nurture our clients’ confidence, trust, happiness with, and desire for our firm’s services
  • Open to feedback at all levels
  • Demonstrated skills of poise, diplomacy, and tact
  • Excellent organization, prioritization, and time management skills
